Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Sports Star Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The three contenders were announced live on a national radio breakfast show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.
The event will be televised from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
