I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the customary face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
