Helen Mirren To Be Honored With Globes' Career Honor.
The acclaimed British actress Dame Helen, already holder of an Oscar statuette, several BAFTA honors, Globes trophies, multiple Emmy accolades, plus a Tony, is poised to add another prestigious accolade to her collection: the Cecil B DeMille Golden Globe lifetime honor.

Dame Helen, octogenarian, who was honored as a dame during 2003 and honored as a BAFTA fellow back in 2014, will accept this honor during a presentation January 8, shortly before the primary Globes ceremony are held, during a program described by the organization as Golden Eve.
This will also include the presentation of the Globes’ Carol Burnett prize for small-screen contributions, whose winner has yet to be announced. Previous recipients were Viola Davis and Ted Danson.
“Dame Helen represents a force of nature, and her career is absolutely remarkable,” stated the organization’s president, the Globes’ leader. “Her captivating roles and commitment to her craft constantly motivate numerous actors and viewers as well. It’s a tremendous privilege to present her with this lifetime achievement honor.”
Career Highlights
The star rose to fame in the 1970s through significant parts in theater in London’s theater district and with the RSC and in cinematic works such as O Lucky Man!, Caligula & The Long Good Friday.
Back in the 90s, her prominent part in detective drama Prime Suspect broadened her fanbase further. Other important films comprise Excalibur, The Madness of King George, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, Gosford Park and Calendar Girls.
She received an Oscar for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in 2006 film The Queen, a role she revisited during 2013 in The Audience, the theatrical work from Peter Morgan concerning the sessions between the queen and prime minister Margaret Thatcher, a role for which Mirren won a Tony back in 2015.

- Subsequent cinematic works feature Hitchcock, The Last Station, Woman in Gold, The Debt, Golda and Barbie, for which she provided narration.
- Her role in the Netflix version of The Thursday Murder Club has garnered acclaim with award talk is increasing about her portrayal as a terminally ill matriarch in Winslet’s directorial debut, Goodbye June.
- In the coming year, Mirren will be seen portraying Patricia Highsmith in Corbijn’s dramatic film, Switzerland.
Globes nominations will be announced December 8, with the film by Paul Thomas Anderson One Battle After Another, Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet and Coogler’s Sinners likely to receive multiple nominations.
