Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a former physician has been charged with performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault â comprising acts against children younger than 13 â spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official said, âLegal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.â
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what investigators called a âcomplex investigationâ into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors outline the 45 charges comprise:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
