Both Deceased Students Revealed in Brown University Attack as Authorities Continue Hunt for Gunman.

Both young individuals who died in the weekend's violent attack in Providence had tributes paid to them on Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their assailant continued following the release by Rhode Island officials of the single suspect detained in connection in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was remembered as “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, per the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which honored her memory at a gathering on Sunday.

Her role included second-in-command of Brown’s chapter of College Republicans of America, according to the organization. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also posted condolences online, stating: “Words cannot express. Thinking of her loved ones and companions, especially her parents.”

MukhammadAziz Umurzokov

The other person killed was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the renowned school, according to relatives.

His name was verified by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. He had big dreams of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and helping people,” his sibling Samira said in a online post.

What Happened

An additional nine individuals were injured in Saturday’s attack in the engineering building of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Law enforcement reported by the end of Sunday that a man aged 24 taken into custody in a search at a Hampton Inn about approximately 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was released from custody.

“A perpetrator remains free,” stated Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

Neronha explained, “Investigations can lead one way, and then you must reassess and go in another, and that is the current situation over the last approximately one day.”

Public Fear

Brett Smiley, Brett Smiley, admitted: “It is expected to provoke renewed concern for our city”.

The shooter began shooting inside a lecture hall in the building on Saturday afternoon, shooting over four dozen bullets from a handgun, a law enforcement official told the Associated Press.

Officers that raided the inn seized two handguns and two ammunition clips when the suspect was taken into custody, according to reports.

Condition of the Injured

Among those wounded, one pupil was allowed to go home, said Brown’s president, Christina Paxson. Seven others were in serious yet stable state, and another was critically ill, police said on Sunday.

Durham Academy, a private academy in the city of Durham, said a recent graduate, Kendall Turner, was in the group of seriously hurt victims.

More Condolences

Cook was remembered at a religious service in Birmingham on Sunday. A reverend stated, “She shone as a remarkable, stable, devout beacon not only here growing up... but at Brown she was a shining example in that particular place as well.”

The president of College Republicans, Martin Bertao, released remarks from the organization. “She was famed for her fearless, heroic, and gentle spirit as she worked for her branch and other students,” he said.

An American diplomat, Jonathan Henick, said he was “extremely sorrowful” by the student's death in a message. “We offer our heartfelt sympathies to Mr Umurzokov’s family, companions, and schoolmates and lament the passing of his bright future.”
